I don't do that on purpose or with any system. Mine can get shuffled somewhat when I candle but that is random.Who shuffles eggs around their incubator?
Not turning, but moving their position. Those in the middle to the edges and vice versa. I am running a maticoopx 20.
No concern, I had just seen it mentioned several times here. Didn't know how common the practice is.I don't do that on purpose or with any system. Mine can get shuffled somewhat when I candle but that is random.
Some people purposefully move their position. The concern is that certain areas may be cooler than others so they move them around so all are affected equally. It's average temperature during incubation that counts much more than any instantaneous temperature. Most commercial incubators should be OK with this but homemade incubators can have cool or hot spots.
I am not aware of any other reason to shuffle the eggs. Do you have a specific concern?
Congratulations on a successful hatch! 13/14 is a great hatch rate! I'm on day 10 today, and will be trying to candle this evening. I think only 2 maybe 3 silkie eggs out of 6 are developing, and my BCM eggs are so dark I can't see anything!@Ezana4CE Sorry it was a busy weekend! I ended up with 13 of the 14 hatching. The one that didn't make it, pipped but never zipped. Once the final egg hatched I removed it to check (within 24 hour window) and it has already passed. When it pipped it did not puncture the membrane so it may have been a weak chick. It wasn't shrink wrapped and the yolk was fully absorbed. Just not meant to be.
