Sicillian Buttercups

Does anyone have any experience with Sicillian Buttercups? I checked out a book from the library called "Storey's Illustrated Guide to Poultry Breeds" and came across them. They are beautiful.

I have a friend that use to raise those, even tho they were flighty. She let hers free range and always talked about how pretty they were and good layers. She almost had me talked into getting some once, now I wish I had...

I have two and they lay white torpedo shaped egg's and are fairly good layer's.The egg's are small to medium but they have a huge yoke andare very rich.One of mine actually went broody but I didn't let her set.

Very beautiful. Great forager. Can be friendly, chatty and calm individually. Reliable white egg layer. We only had the one hen, She was somewhat of a daredevil, was the first to fly out of the barn to explore their first snowfall after a blizzard....Ellen got stuck, and I had to rescue her.

Ours were handled since they were a day old. They free range and are not flighty at all. They are so tame and the rooster combs are a sight to behold. "Moose" is our main rooster and is such a baby. They are a beautiful addition to your yard. Go for it !!!

I had them last year. They were so much smaller than my standards they got beat up on alot.

My 4 month old pullet is small-at least compared to my BR and EE.
She is a very pretty bird.
Really sweet and inquisitive-great little personality
She is a little high strung, but not at all in a nervous or stupid way. She is smart and curious.
I really like the breed. And I keep hearing that they are good layers.

I had a Buttercup (I had to put her down

) and she was a nice little bird, a bit flighty, laid nice white eggs, and got along with all the other girls.
