My approach is to panic early . . . then there are more options to avoid trouble.
Their optimal temperature will be dropping, about 5 degrees F per week. Daily bath time helps in so many ways. It gets the dusty crud off of them, gets their little muscles working, helps them cool off if need be, and some research I read a couple of years ago indicates that early swimming hastens preening and stimulates the preen gland. They enjoy it, so it is good for their nervous system. Good stuff!
