I have 8 babies that were hatched months ago. 7 of them are almost full grown and doing well. 1 only has feathers on her/his wings, very much smaller, still has the soft new born hair all over body. The past few days she’s been off feed and not drinking. Today I noticed she was off by herself. It’s 100+ degrees so we brought her inside. She is sneezing and foaming a little when she drinks. Very lethargic. Is there anything that I can do for her?

Welcome to BYC. It sounds like she was a failure to thrive or runt chick, and that may have made her have poor immunity. If you could get Tylan 50 or 200, or oxytetracycline from your feed store along with some syringes and needles to withdraw it from the vial, you can give some orally. I can give hou dosage if you get one of those. Runts can be slow to develop and might be affected by coccidiosis, which further stunts growth. It sounds like she has been exposed to a respiratory disease that your others have been able to fight off so far. Infectious bronchitis and mycoplasma (MG) are common respiratory diseases.

Do they usually make it? She hasn’t opened her eyes this morning but is still hanging on. I was hoping she would pull through she’s so special and we’ve never had this happen to any new babies hatched on the ranch.
