I have a month old americana that was fine yesterday. This morning she will not walk, she will get up on her legs sometimes but mostly she lays down. I am giving her water by a dropper. Not really eating. Does anyone know what it might be or what I should do. Please help, thanks, Erin

Is the chick paralyzed or partially paralyzed? Does its poop look normal? I am a little puzzled as to what it might be without further description. It could also be vitamin deficient, sometimes that is associated with mobility problems in chicks. I would try giving it some vitamins and electrolytes. You can purchase a bag of water soluble ones at your local farm supply store.Hope this helps.

She is not paralyzed all over just has trouble standing on her legs & can't walk. Her poop is fine, her eyes are not watery. She is picking at a chick treat I put near her, but she does not move much. Some one on another post said you could use baby vitamins, is this true?
Thanks, Erin

Yes probably. I have never used it , but chances are if you can use them on babies they are fine for chickens.

So glad it is doing better. Does it have access to things it should not eat? Perhaps a poisonous weed, or eating hard things without having grit and the ability to digest? I am pretty new at this, but just a few things that come to mind.
