Sick baby chick

I'm certainly not an expert on any of this, but did you try giving him/her electrolytes to help it gain its strength? Shipments can be stressful, so perhaps that would help? Sav-a-chick is one example, you would offer it in a separate waterer (keep waterer with normal water out in addition to the electrolytes). There is a ratio on the packet, that is important to follow. I wish I could be more helpful :/

You're right to suspect something is off with this baby. The poop you describe sounds like it's not getting enough to eat. Sometimes a chick will not be able to eat the dry crumbles for some reason, and they quit eating. In just 24 hours, it starts to become weak, and then it's downhill from there unless you intervene.

Try wetting the crumbles with warm water. If you have a farm supply store nearby, or next time you go to town, get some Poultry Nutri-drench. It's hi-powered vitamins just for sick chickens. Sprinkle some over the moistened crumbles. Let the other chicks eat the moistened crumbles so the sick chick gets the incentive to try it, too.

Another reason for this chick to be acting odd is that it's got a disease. Watch for blood to show up in the poop, and keep a close eye on the others.

I tried the wet food but he won't even open his eyes. The others keep stepping on him. I suspect he will not last through the night. R.I.P.

He us still alive. I have him in my hands trying to make him comfortable during his final moments of life.

Try to get a little honey and water in his beak, poor dear, sometimes, they just don't make it.

Watch your others carefully. Glad you caught the pasty butt on the others.

I did the corn syrup and water thing. Then I put him in the box withe the others. I came back half hour later and he was so king wet and all the other chicks were like stepping on him. I was going to warm him with a hair dryer but I don't have one. Please help at this point I think it's in the chicks best interest to have him put out of his misery but at this point I don't know what to do.
