My bantam hen is panting and laying by her water for 2 days. Her comb is really pale also and she is shaking her head a lot. She's very lethargic today. Shes drinking her probiotic water and electrolyte. She's also eating some. What can it be?

Welcome To BYC

Where are you located in the world?

When is the last time she laid an egg?
How old is she?

I would check her crop to make sure it's emptying overnight. Look inside her beak just to make sure there's no lesions/white yellow pasty material. While you are giving her a look over, check for lice/mites too.

If the crop is not emptying, this article will help you determine what course of treatment to use. Do keep in mind that often crop problems are a symptoms of an underlying condition.

I am located in southern Oklahoma. I'm not sure when she layed last. I know she has since her babies hatched 3 months ago. I thought maybe she was getting to hot but all the others are fine. How do I know if her crop is emptying?

I just checked her again and I'm certain she is egg bound. She's hard back there by her vent. I soaked her but nothing yet. Going to try again in a couple hours.
