My broody Serama has been sitting on eggs for 17 days. I have been bringing her food and water at least once a day. She also gets up to eat when another hen lays. Today I noticed she doesn’t look well and isn’t caring to sit on her eggs. She is lethargic, hunched with feathers puffed a little, not active like normal and has now started to breathe a little heavy. She is not opening her beak to breathe, no signs of mucous, poop is just slightly runny but not bloody. None of our other birds are showing any signs of illness yet. Please help!

I started her on Corid yesterday. This is her this morning. She seems to be about the same except shaking her head a bit more.

I apologize I got eager to see if she would eat this morning and forgot to check it her crop was full. She hasn’t eaten much and it feels as though not much is in there right now.

Yes, I see the photos.

Have you looked her over for lice/mites?
If possible, take a poop sample to your vet to see if worms or Coccidia is a problem.

I would also check her crop again first thing in the morning.

I looked her over for lice/mites (with my readers) but see nothing.

I’m attempt to get a big enough sample to bring to the vet today. Not so easy it’s a bantam.

I tried getting her into an avian vet today but can’t until Friday.

Our farm vet will be our tomorrow for a couple of our animals getting spayed. Thankful she will be able to look her over. I’m not convinced she could make it to Friday.

I’ll check her crop tomorrow morning.

Do you think I should treat her for mites/lice today? Or would that be too much with Corid too.

I really appreciate your help. My animals are everything to me.
