I have a 13 week old Black Java chick that I found sleeping in the nest box last evening. When I picked her up I noticed she was very thin. This morning when I put out food for the flock and opened the door /she was the last to come out and she walked very slowly and didn't even try to eat anything. She was quite easy to catch. Her vent looks fine, her crop is not enlarged and she opens her beak every5 seconds or so to either take a deep breath or try to throw up or something. I'm afraid she is on her last leg and I wish I had noticed sooner that there was a problem. Any idea what it could be? All the other chickens seem find. She and the other three that hatched with her have all been very vigorous when it comes to eating.

I put her in the brooder in the garage. I mixed some nutri-drench with water for her and then put out some food. I don't think she has touched either. She just stands around and seems to open her beak for a deep breath every little while. Should I try some antibiotics?
