Yester day I took 10 of my Broiler chickens to slaughter. once there the gentalman doing this for me said my chickens where sick, but the meet was still good. I had all Rooster but he said that for 8 weeks old they where small. They had watery poo and he asked if they had been seenzing? I hadnt noticed anything until they day we picked out the 10 there was one with what looked like a water snot stuff coming out its beek. He said this is not uncomon for chickes raised in ohio startng in March because of the crazy flucuating temps 50's to 30's to 60's to 80's all in the last 2 months. He has been slaughterig chickens all his life (hes in is 40s) and said they looked like they had a"cold" almost and that I should get antibotics to treat them and then the rest will grow better.

What sort of antibotics do I need to get??
I when to the feed store and know one knew and i have looked all over the internet to find nothis!!! I need help please help I am new to all of this!!

you can use Tylan50 for respiratory illness
it works very well. dose is large birds 1/2 cc small bird 1/4 cc once daily given in the breast muscle.for 5 days. but because they are meat birds I'm not sure you will want to use that. instead you might try a water soluble antibiotic like gallamycine. also some info for you. chickens don't catch colds they catch diseases. although the symptoms are similar to the human cold the causes are very different
and sometimes recovered birds can be life long carriers of that illness although symptoms have been relieved. hope this helps and best wishes
