Sick chick gasping for air PLEASE HELP!!!

Sadly the baby died just a little bit ago. I had checked on them this afternoon and then ran some errands. I went in to change their water and top off the feed as well as check for pasty butts and found it dead

I wish i would have known what to give it med wise but i had no clue and figured terramycin was worthless so i opted not to use it and just gave them V&E in their water. God i hope i dont loose any more or i will give up on ordering hatchery birds forever!

Thank you, I know there was nothing i could really do which was the hard part, Now i am trying to figure out what it could be because some others are starting to show symptoms too and everyone has melted hershey bar looking poo. Maybe cocci?

They might be too cold. Do you have a thermometer in the brooder? Cocci, I never thought of that...IDK. Is it reddiesh at all? Fluffed up no movement?

Nope its 95 degrees in there, I have had a thermometer in there since day 1 to monitor the temps. No reddish in their poo just hershey bar color. I would think they would be all huddled together if they were too cold but they are all spread out everywhere.

I'm so sorry to hear about your wee chick. I lost a chick this morning to the same symptoms only she was about 4-6 weeks old and I think mine had avian pox. She had no other symptoms other than gasping for breath. Her hatchmates had more visible signs. She was a designer chick.

:aww

I hope your other wee ones are ok.

I need help. My baby chick (week old) is gasping for air. She makes a clicking sound when trying to breath in. I gave her a couple drops of Tylan 50 and some water. She doesn't appear to have anything stuck in her crop and I looked in her throat and didn't see anything. I am posting a pic of poop.
