sick chick-help please!

I have 12 5 day old chicks-just arrived yesterday-today one is not looking well.
Not eating or drinking-just sitting there. She was fine until now.
They are on medicated chick feed-and getting Vit. and electrolytes in water.
Any ideas?? I hate to just watch her die!

Check her bumm to make sure she's not pasted up and feel her crop to make sure it's not overfull/impacted. I have read several times to have them drink electolytes but have not tried it myself. Good luck and I hope everything goes well

You can pull it out away from the others, offer it some warm electrctrolite (sp) water, and give it some poly~vi~sol without iron. you might offer it some of a hard boiled egg too. It may just need a little help building up its strength.

thanks so much. After i Posted my 'help', I could not locate the thread or answers.
So another chicken forum said to hand feed her a mash with feed and milk-which
i did-I had to actually put a few bits on her beak till she started to eat it-after a few
hours, she did start to eat. It was amazing-she is now scurrying around with the
rest and seems fine. Still the runt, but i think she is ok now.
