Sick chick, or normal? *HELP, now there's 2!*

Were chicks treated for Cocci? Or were they just on Duramycin? Duramycin will not treat cocci. Respiratory infections can accompany cocci, if what they had was cocci. I would look at forum for diseases/emergencies/injuries/cures,there is a lot of information regarding this issue, and different medications to use. Chicks on medicated starter feed can get cocci, all medicated feed does is slow down the progression a bit, you have to act fast, cocci kills very quickly if left untreated.

They haven't been treated for anything. They'll be 2 weeks old on Monday.
I'll buy both Duramycin and Cocci meds on Sunday when I'm in town. It may be too late for this particular chick, but I have no possible way to get the meds before then.

At least I'll have them on hand for any future issues...

she died during the night... at least she's not suffering anymore. The second chick appears to have made a full recovery. Tomorrow I'll get the meds so I'm more prepared in the future.

I had some tabletob chickens (The mini ones) adn one had 10 chicks. We took care of them in the house and there was one that barely made it out of his egg. After he hatched, he was always wobbly and refused to eat or drink for 2 days. All he did was sleep. We gave up on trying to feed him, so we just let him sleep. After 3 or 4 days, he was perfectly fine, running around with his siblings. he is still a runt, though. A few years ago, we had one that lost his mommy and wouldn't eat so we crushed up baby food and dipped a wet paintbrish (a small one) in the food. When the food was stuck onto it, we dragged it along the chick's beak and the water stimulated it to opem its mouth a little like when they drink. we pushed some food in the beak and it ate. when it realized the yellow stuff was food, it started to eat. Maybe either just let your chick sleep or try feeding it with watery substances.
