Sick chick - vent gleet?

OMG!!! what happened! I have this SAME problem. I tried many things and have no idea what to do... Did anyone figure this out. my little one has been like this at least 2 weeks and I am bout to try a cocci treatment since another one died but I don't know if that's even the problem!

I'm sorry your babies are sick. We never figured out the cause but I did start using Corid and I changed the shavings. When I contacted the place I bought them from they asked to send pictures. They thought the shavings (pine of course) might have been too small and they might have been ingesting it. I did both at the same time so I can't say which one worked, if they even helped at all. Unfortunately both mine passed, but they would die within 24 hours of showing signs of illness. They were also 1 week and 2.5 weeks old. You can get Corid from Amazon if you can not find it locally. Inwouldnalso suggest if you start using the Corid not to give them any treats that have a high water content (you want them to drink the water ). My remaining girls have been fine since. I did get a little worried about one, but she seemed to pull through. They are now 7 weeks old living one happily in there coop. I hope you chick pulls through.
