Sick chick?

We bought him from a breeder.

He has only been around chicks his age. All of our older chickens and other chicks seem fine.

Newcastle disease is highly unlikely as it is a reportable disease. You would have been made aware that it is in your area.

At 2 weeks old, a chick is not fully fledged. Any shivering you are seeing is because it is cold when it is removed from its heat source.

Based on his symptoms, I would be having a word with his breeder. Any birds with signs of a "cold" probably have a respiratory disease. Unfortunately, respiratory diseases in poultry are usually lifelong and contagious to any birds they come in direct and indirect contact with.

Talk to the breeder about your concerns.

ETA- Keep him and any chicks from this breeder in strict quarantine!!!
