I have a sick hen. Shy of 3 years old. She's been sick for about a week now. I really thought she'd be dead by now. She's staying underneath the coop but must be coming out to eat & drink. When I first noticed she was ill, her comb had flopped to the side and is pale in color. No known trauma. Her rear-end is pastier (sp?) than normal. Yesterday I noticed another hen whose comb is flopping to the side but does not exhibit any other illness symptoms. Any thoughts?

I would start with worming and killing any outer parasites they may have. These things can literally suck the blood out of them. Do they eat and drink enough? Do they have shade?

When they're not free ranging they can go under the coop for shade. I'll try worming and dusting. See what happens. Thanks fir the input.
