Hello my people

I am totally new to this site. Although I have been reviewing and reading up on peoples stories ,I've enjoyed plenty of peoples comments and "Tips". I'm new to raising chickens and my concern right now is my chicken (Tumia. ) She's very sick right now and from what I've read , the problem might be egg-bound. I already went with everyone's advice in here, and I think there's an egg or a lump near or underneath her abdomen. Set her inside a tub with warm water, rubbed her belly to try and help it loosen up. I am aware of breaking the egg, so I'm afraid of really doing too much!
Please if anyone knows how to treat her, without any 'Vet' Or any other way of income. Don't have much to spend:( ... Today her poop is not really as healthy as it should... Runny, yellow (which probably yolk or infection?) Walks like a penguin, evenings short of breath and loss of appetite!! Thank you for reading this.

She is in grave danger of dying painfully of heart failure if she is eggbound too long (sounds like she may well be eggbound). Time is of the essence. Is there a chicken lover near you who would help with the immediate need for a vet, or who has a lot of experience dealing with resolving this issue? IT'S THAT SERIOUS. A vet shouldn't be very expensive. Is there a 4-H group you can call for help right now, today, without further delay? Call your local feed stores for leads. Hurry, please. Meantime, she needs to be nice and warm so her muscles relax, quiet....if in bath, don't take your eyes off her.

(do you know how old she is? has she been laying or is this the first of the season? where are you geographically [generally] in case a BYC member is near you and sees this and is able to help. BYC is so big now that posts get buried very quickly. post updates to bring back to the top of issues being seen,. situation too urgent right now to get into this, but later when resolved, maybe you can provide info on her diet)

JJ .. Thanks for replying. I am not sure how old she is, but this is not her first year laying! I been watching her carefully and keeping her warm. I live in California (central Cali) and right now she is still sleeping but I can see she is breathing hard. Unfortunately none of my neighbors that I know are chicken lovers. They would probably tell me to put her in the Pot! I'm heading out to buy her some yogurt so she can eat something. I gave her some warm water with a little bit of apple cider

Her heart is going to fail without imminent medical attention. Breathing heavy is your indication. Call feed stores if you don't know where 4-H folks are. Tell them it's an emergency. Maybe someone will help you get quick vet attention (inexpensively). This has been going on FAR TOO LONG. I lost a beautiful, sweet life-loving 2 years young hen to a heart attack from being eggbound less than 1 day.,.really just a half of a day. JJ

Spending your time shopping for yogurt right now is a fool's errand. This is an EMERGENCY.

I will call the feed stores immediately, and I'm really sorry about your Hen :( Thank you I will keep this posted

Check your other thread. Get a TUMS into her immediately. Crush a TUMS with a little bit of water, just enough to make it a slurry that you can get down her throat very carefully with an eyedropper. A little at a time so she doesn't choke. HURRY.

She ate some tums and watered it a little bit. She was hungry. I'm checking my local feed stores now. It angers me because my family's looking at me with that "crazy guy kook" they want me to get her out and walk Round. I shouldn't right?

Right.

That said, if it's sunny and warm and you can put her in a confined, completely safe area for a few minutes in the sun and warmth and grass while you watch her, to see if she feels like walking around or sunbathing (this could calm her), that would be okay. But if she's so sick that she doesn't care, I would keep her in a very quiet warm area with the regular baths and your close supervision. They love the sun when the weather is comfy (not too hot, not too cold) but again. if she is in no mood, don't.

Your family just doesn't understand the gravity of the situation, and how much pain she's in..

How is she? (I have to go out for some hours now so wanted to write before leaving - she is in my thoughts...)
