Sick chicken? Help

8months old, is looking very poorly. Her comb is droopy, slightly blueish in places? Has NO appetite at all,

Update: poor Holly is looking worse. I tried feeding her some scrambled egg...she wont even try peck. Thought I'd have a better look at her vent. When I was doing this she started spewing liquid out? What is going on? Does she have a chest infection? What can i do? She hasnt touched the water or the food? and no poo just a slight white mark on the paper. Her croup does feel slightly puffy?

She can walk. But she is very lethargic. I think she is actually now just straving to death
Can you check her crop again - does her breath smell sour, what does the crop feel like - you mention puffy - but is it hard, squishy, air or fluid filled, doughy?

When you went to examine her vent, were you successful? Did you feel inside for an egg?

Crop issues can often be a symptom of something else going on in the body - there is a blockage or inflammation somewhere that is preventing the contents to empty. Since she has not pooped, then I would try to feel for an egg again. Reproductive problems are often the cause of a crop not to empty - you need to address both. A stuck egg would be first priority.

This article will help you determine which crop problem she may have: https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

Excellent advice by Wyorp Rock. When she spewed the liquid, that came out of the beak, or the vent? If it came out of the beak, she probably had a full crop of liquid. Did that have an odor. What color was it? You thought last night that the crop was empty. It helps to feel for crops in the other chickens, and they should be empty in morning, then gradullay fill up during the day. Did she have any wet spot under where she is lying?

A puffy crop with a sour or foul odor can be a sign of sour crop, and they can starve to death since food cannot pass through the digestive tract.

Her white poop was kidney waste or urates, and can be a sign of dehydration. It would be good to check inside her vent for a stuck egg. A stuck egg can keep them from pooping.

I am sorry that she is worse. The article that WR posted is good to help with a crop disorder. Feeding some plain yogurt with live cultures mixed with a little egg would be good to feed. Let us know how she is feeling later.
