Sick chicken-HELP!

I wanted to thank you so much for all of your help, suggestions and kind words. Red did not make it. ((
She stopped eating or taking any water at all. I was giving her water through a dropper and she just hung her head down and it all dribbled out. I wish I knew what happened to her and why she became so ill. So far the rest of the flock seems to be healthy, although I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on them. Due to everyone's suggestions, I feel I have some supplies and information on hand for the future.

I'm so sorry to hear that. You absolutely did your best so please take comfort in that. She will likely have been ill for a while before she even showed any sign of it. This is what they do, sadly, they mask it very well. And it means we sometimes can't help them in time. And with production reds, it is so common for their bodies to just be worn out with the accelerated egg laying that they were bred to do. It is not your fault. I'm sure she had a happy life and that is all we can do as chicken keepers. Sending you my best wishes.
