I have a year old chicken who is laying down with her eyes closed and won’t open them. She won’t get up or stand. She is breathing and won’t drink or eat herself. I gave her water using a dropper and opened her mouth and she swallowed it herself. She can swallow it but her eyes are still closed and no movement other than moving her head slightly to swallow. Please help me!!!!

How long has she been this way?
When did she last eat?
Is she pooping and what does her poop look like?
Can you post a pic of the chicken close up, and her poop close up?

Bring her indoors if you can in a small dog crate or other container so you can watch her.
Make sure she is warm, use a heat lamp if you need to to make her cozy.
She may be dehydrated, try mixing electrolytes in water for her. Feed stores sell them in packets where you can make a gallon at a time.
Also put some vitamins in water for her. I would syringe feed her some Nutri-Drench.

She has been this way for about 2 days but she was laying in our chicken coop on the floor yesterday.
I don’t remember when she last ate or pooped because I don’t think she has been eating or drinking.
I brought her inside and what type of vitamins should I kid with the water?

A multiple vitamin, or a B-complex is good. I use Nutri-Drench when I have a chicken who is under the weather, which most feed stores carry. You can mix it in water or even feed a few drops straight. There are other preparations also which are good for chickens.
I have used Poli-vi-sol human baby multivitamins (without iron) for chickens too.

I didn’t think to ask, but has this hen been laying eggs? Has she laid an egg recently? Could she possibly be egg-bound? You would be able to feel the egg by palpating the abdomen.

Ok we gave her some complex vitamin B and I don’t remember the last time she laid an egg but I will check if she is egg-bound right now
