One year old chicken is sick. She was perfectly normal four days ago, but within an hour that afternoon she went from normal to sick. Puffed up feathers, standing with tail feathers down. She walks very slow, like a penguin. I separated her and keep her inside the house. I do not think she is egg bound, her abdomen feels normal (not too hard and not too squishy), and I’ve put a finger inside her to check for egg, but nothing. She did not eat or drink for the first 24 hours, but later she started eating and drinking. We are now on day 4, and I can still not see a lot of improvement. Her crop is normal. She is pooping, and it looks like the attached picture. No signs of worms, but with a bit of intestal shedding(?) and yellow color! Does any of you know what this could be? No vets around here know anything about chickens.. thanks for your help!

Well, I think she acts more normal. Walks better and seem to be more «awake» and not lethargic. But she refuse to eat! She will only drink water. I try to offer her delicios food just to get her to eat something, but no. She will only drink water. And I try ti give her probiotics, but the poop is still yellow, slimy and watery. I am in contact with a vet. but the standard procedure with faecal analysis is to look for endoparasites, not bacteria/infections! So I am trying to get the vet to find other labs to do the more complete analysis, but she is slow to reply..

I don’t know how long a chicken can be alive without any food.. :(

You can feel her breast bone to see how prominent it's becoming. Generally once they stop eating completely it's just a matter of time unfortunately.

The chicken was sick for 5-7 days, no eating, only drinking. After that she started eating and the poop got normal very fast after that. I gave her lots of Probiotica. The result from the test I received after she was back to normal. But since the entire flock had "moderate" amounts of the bacteria, and some of them had diarrhea/was acting a bit off, I started the whole flock on Amoxicillin after talking to the vet. They got the medication for 7 days.
