So we have an Americana who is acting really lethargic, she has lost weight, she seems to be sleeping while standing up. She isn't walking funny, she seems to run just fine but we are concerned she may be sick with the way she is acting. We don't have a vet close by, any ideas???

Hi @Valionz34 :frow Welcome To BYC

How old is she?
If she is of laying age - when was the last time she laid an egg - was it normal?
What type of food/treats do you feed?
How long has she been acting sick?
What is your weather like?
How long have you had her?

Lethargy, weight loss and sleeping while standing up can be so many things - check her abdomen for any swelling/bloat or feeling of fluid, look through feathers for any injury/cuts and lice/mites, feel her crop and smell her breath - any sour smell or soft/squishy crop?
Try to keep her hydrated - if you can find a vet that will see her, that would be best.

She is about 18 weeks, not laying eggs yet, we use blue seal food, we have had her since she was a chick, the weather is cooling off, we are in Northern Vermont

Do you have any pictures you can share?
Best one we could get. Almost seems like she is falling asleep standing up. She feels smaller so to speak, almost boney. You can see her wings hanging down further than normal

Taking poo to the vet today. Here is a picture of it. I'm sorry if it's gross, but I'm not that experienced with poultry poo. Thanks!
