Hi all, we have a sick chicken and was looking for some suggestions. Our 5 year old Bantam mix is feeling under the weather. She's very weak and will only eat or drink out of your hand. Her stool is a clear mucus with a bit of green. Today was the warmest day this year so I thought she might be a bit dehydrated until I seen her stool, now I'm not so sure. We have her quarantined where we can keep a close eye on her. Any ideas as to what might be going on? I have attached photos. Thanks!

Sorry about your hen. Has she laid eggs in awhile? I would give her a few drops of Poultry Nutridrench or some water with electrolytes, pedialyte or gatorade. If she drinks some, then offer her some chicken feed mixed with a lot of water to make a mash. Cooked bits of egg would be good as well. The mucus could be from her intestines, but hard to know for sure. If you have a willing vet, you could take in some droppings to look for worms or other parasites.

She had an egg in the coop from yesterday. We are currently hand feeding her soft foods and electrolyte water. We will likely take her in if she does not turn around soon. Thanks!

Just a quick update... She's up on her feet today, more alert and having more normal looking stools. She's not out of the woods yet but things are looking better.
