Sick Chicken

I'm so sorry. If you want to try to see what caused this, and if you have the courage, you can open up her abdominal cavity and see what you can find. I've done this on quite a few of my chickens that died mysteriously, and about half the time, I see quite obviously what was wrong. In one case last summer, a year old hen died very suddenly. I opened her up and found what looked like boiled eggs. She has been laying internally. Another time, a "soup" of bean-size cancer tumors were filling the stomach cavity.
We buried her as we have freezing cold temp and snow coming soon. I thought of calling my vet as she told be in the past she would do this, but I really think it was an isolated issue with her as the other chickens didn't like to much except the alpha who raised her, was the only one nice. I know it can drive a person crazy wondering what was wrong. Thanks for your advice but I just can't do this as I am just to emotional right now.

Sorry about your hen. I agree with others to get a necropsy if you can, sometimes it can be reassuring to find out that it was some cause you couldn't prevent ie internal laying etc. You did your best in caring for her regardless, sometimes we are just not on the side of luck and end up losing them. :(

One question I have - what is 'strong electrolytes'? I thought electrolytes solution is a proportion of salts in water for hydration, if you make them any stronger, that's just salt water, isn't it? Or is it a specific product?

I used Vitamins & Electrolytes (multi species). Was just using it her water. Later I mixed a bowl of it and syringed this in her. Used the measurement but the water seemed diluted.
