Hello I’m new to backyardchickens and I have a problem. I have a silver Americauna that’s about a year old and three weeks ago I noticed that her crop is misplaced. It’s high up closer to her throat and I’m not sure what to do about it. It didn’t seem to bother her and I could touch it and it felt normal but with in the last week she has started to become lethargic and keeps her feathers fluffed up. I checked her over and I can’t find anything wrong with her ( other then her crop being high and I can’t find anything on that ). Her poop has been normal and she was eating and drinking fine. She was also still laying eggs until three days ago and yesterday she just looked awful. I honestly didn’t think she’d make it through the night. She slept almost all day yesterday. Fluffed up and I didn’t see her eat or drink anything. Anyone have any advice?

Welcome To BYC

Can you post photos?
Is it the crop that is high or could you be feeling a mass, tumor or partial blockage of some sort?
Have you taken a look inside her beak to see if there's mucous, yellow or white pasty material?
Have you ever de-wormed her?
If she does eat/drink - does the food/water seem to go down or does it spill out?

Thank you for replying! I looked in her mouth this morning and it looked completely normal. She also ate a little and drank some and it seemed to go down normally as well. The bump that I thought was her crop was there on Monday but this morning her crop was in the correct place and the bump gone. I don’t know if was a partial blockage that worked itself out or what but she is still lethargic and fluffed up. And she pooped today but it was all liquid. I haven’t thought about it being worms. What could I use for her?

I'm glad the bump seems to be gone, she may have had some food stuck in her throat?

For deworming, you can use Safeguard (Fenbendazole) or Valbazen. Either one is good.
