The other day I posted about my chicken who laid an egg in the middle of the grass. That same chicken laid a soft shelled egg the day after, and nothing since. The days are getting shorter, though, so that's not unusual (the soft shelled egg and laying in the middle of the grass is). When I let them out in the grass today, she remained sitting in the pen. Not fluffed up, when I threw scratch and bugs she ate it, but it's not like her at all to not go to the grass.
Then I noticed one of her eyes was a little swollen. She has had a neck feather problem for months - I haven't seen any bugs, but tried ivermectin in case they were burrowing mites. No change. She's started to grow feathers back on her neck...some, not all. I'll post pictures of each eye and then one from the front. If you’re looking at the pictures, the right eye (her left eye) is the swollen one. No sneezing, wheezing, mouth breathing, etc. - she's just very low energy and the eye looks weird.
I have about just about every medication (oral - I could get IM and give it a try if they sell it at Tractor Supply but otherwise, I've never given a shot). Thoughts on what I should try? I don't know that it's an egg problem because the swelling and extra redness seems weird.
I have her separated in a dog crate for now. Nothing weird about my other girls.
