We have a sick Duccle chicken, she is about 2 years old. We at first thought she was egg bound but we could not feel and egg inside of her. We have moved her inside and she is currently in our bathroom, we are giving her water with tums in it(for calcium) and some food with their scratch grain in it. She started having symptoms Friday night and we brought her in on Saturday, right now she has been eating and drinking, but we didn’t giver her food right away mostly just water which I fed her with a syringe, but not she is eating and drinking on her own, she is heavy breathing but when she breathes there is a clicking sound, but I am not sure why, she is able to walk around but is not doing much of it. Do you know what my chicken could be sick with?

Do you have pictures of her? Is the clicking sound the only symptom? Is she lethargic? Is there any mucus around her nares or any bubbles in her eyes? What does her poop look like?

She is now not clicking when breathing, but it’s kind of an off and on thing. We have not noticed any swelling but she mostly is just staying in this corner not moving a lot. She has been hunched for most of the time since Friday. The white poop is what came out a little bit after we felt for an egg inside her, then the more normal poop is what she started to have a few hours after the white and seems to be a mix of white and normal poop from now on.

When we first found her she was not on a roost like she usually is at bed time, she was trying to go under our Silkie rooster who sleeps on the ground with our other two Silkie hens, she was also would sometimes go in an up right position like she was trying to lay an egg, but we didn’t feel an egg inside of her.

If sheiis egg bound you'll want to get some calcium citrate in her. It should work faster than the tums. You might have to crush it up in some scrambled egg but people often say their hens just gobble it down.

Does it seem to be mainly a respiratory thing? Is her crop full? What does it feel like?
Her crop feel normal, I do see that it is droopy in the back but I don’t remember what it used to look like. When I went to feel her comb she started walking and is now drinking out of a dish, the walking was not super fast. Not sure if it’s her stomach making the noise or what, but during typing this I am watching her drinking and noises are being made, not necessarily gurgling, not sure how to describe it. This photo is a more recent poop, from during the night.

Her poop looks ok to me. If she is drinking water you can try putting something like Nutri-Drench or rooster booster in it to help her eat. You can also drizzle either on her food if she will eat. I would do that if she's eating. When is the last time she laid an egg?

Ok, we did give her an epsom salt bath yesterday, and while in the bath there was a moment where like bubbles came up, like if you farted under water. Could she still be egg bound even if we didn’t feel an egg, my mom put her finger inside her vent a couple inches and couldn’t feel an egg.
