Hi there, we need more info.
Age.
Diet, feed type and treats
Laying?
And swelling between the legs?
Recently wormed, is so, with what?

Welcome to BYC! :frow

Sorry your bird is unwell.

Age required.. What does the stance or position look like?

Coccidiosis or crop dysfunction (impacted or sour) are some suspect possibilities to start with until more information is available.

This sounds like what I was dealing with 2 days ago. I picked up my girl, took her to a sink to clean her off with warm water and soap. It turned out that she had a yolkless, softshell egg that was 'stuck'--she could not seem to push it out. With her pushing and my gentle coaxing, we were able to get it out. It appeared that some very runny poop was able t get by, but it just ran down and stuck to her backside. She was a mess. She is fine now--back to 100%. I did not see anything that looked like lash material inside the 'shell'. I think she might have paused her laying for a few winter weeks and may just be coming back into lay now.

iam new please bear with me. I also have ducks and intermingle with chickens. 2 yrs old. not sure of breed but black with some white. Eats pallets but are free range and put up at night. lots of scraps and egg shells. Live upstate NY with prediators. 2 yrs ago I lost over 20 between foxes and a fisher destroyed them. They are laying but not sure about this one. Need to look at legs what do I look for? I guess I'll look at other chickens to compare. I just did diatomaceous food grade with feed this am

No problem, we all start somewhere.
Sounds good bit I'd cut back on the scraps and not use d.e, it's not a wormer and can cause respiratory irritation for you and your birds.
You're looking for tightness between the legs.

How does her crop feel? Squishy? doughy? Hard?
Are her poops looking normal? Any mucus or watery eye?

i soak her with epsom salt for around 15 mins. seem to like it. Walked around awhile but slow and seemed in pain. Have her separated. Is in a closure with lots of shaving and heat lamp. Is breathing a little heavy. After soaking she did have a little runny poop. Not eating or drinking that I can see. Its there for her but doesn't seem interested. She now resting in a pile of shavings. The Chickens were picking on her but the ducks seem fine. Thanks

Sounds like you are taking good care of her! Does her belly feel like a water balloon? Looks similar to what my chicken had...
