Hello I am new to backyard chickens. I have 12 chickens that are 4 months old. 1 of them a Black jersey Giant hen, has become sick over the past few days. Her symptoms are, yellow diarrhea, real weak acting, not much energy like the rest of the flock. I took her out from the rest of the flock and put her in a small cage to monitor her. She has been drinking water and eating a bit, I started the whole flock on medicated chick starter for the first twelve weeks or so and have been feeding them flock raiser since. Just need some advice to try to save her and protect the rest of the flock that are all well. I have been told to put them back on medicated chick starter or put sulfa?? in her water. Any help or advice out there??? Thanks..

Yeah weight loss, shakes her head a little bit kindove unusual. She is standing more than yesterday, and seems to be doing a little better. Still has yellow runs with white streaks which i think the white is urine. I dont know. I added some kicken chicken supplement i had to her food to try to boost her immune system, seemed to maybe help a little bit.

Any nutrition supplement can't hurt.

Check her temperature, if over 106 it could be Streptococcosis.

Also think about Chronic Respiratory Disease, very common.

Ochratoxicosis, could she have gotten some moldy grain or feed?

Ok thanks. I keep feed in dry storage bin, but some could have spilled out of feeders when i feed them. Thanks for the help.
