Sick Chicken

My hen won't stand and she pushes her legs straight back...She is active if you move or pick her up but wont use her legs...She is pooping but she doesn't move so it builds up on her butt...When i try to stand her up on her feet she just throws them straight back again...Any ideas? Please Help

How old is your hen?
When pushes with her legs, does she flip forward or backwards?
Is there any swelling around her hips or upper legs?

The only other thing I can think of right now is maybe egg impaction? Give her a warm butt bath soak for about 20 min. Don't burn her. Make sure it's a temp your under arm at the wrist can tolerate.

how old is the hen?

make up this mix:

layer feed, water cooked oatmeal, plain yogurt, cooked chopped egg yolk..
give 3 times a day for 3 days, along with regular layer feed and water.
then give once day for a week.

also try and get some poultry vitamins..
until you can, you can use Poly-vi-sol liquid baby vitamins..2 drops on beak once a day for a week..then taper off for a week.

has she been vaccinated for Mareks?

what color are the droppings?
has she been wormed? if so..when? and what was used?
