Sick Chicken

My three-year-old black Australorp has pale waddles and comb. I'm quite worried, although she has a bit of a rotten smell to her. She usually walks around the yard with the rest of the flock but lately has been drifting away to another part of they yard. She still digs around in the dirt as normal and was eating meal worms yesterday but doesn't look like herself. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Thank you!

So sorry about your Astrolorp, sounds like she is ill. I would recommend you post your description with as much detail as you can under emergencies and sincerely hope someone with experience can help.

Is her odor coming from one particular area - could be a local infection, or does all of her smell? Has she ever been wormed, or treated for mites? Parasites can load up unannounced, and the chicken becomes anemic. Is she still laying? Maybe the Emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread folks will have a solution for you. I hope she will get back to good health.
