Since they responded to the Nutradrench, I would suspect that they did have a problem with vitamins or electrolytes. Curled toes can be a sign of disease, but also B 2 (ribolfavin) deficiency. This time of year, there isn't as much to eat free ranging without giving them some chickenfeed.
