sick chickens

Hi! Enjoy reading this sight. Hope maybe someone can give me some advise. I've raised chicks for years but I'm having prblems lately We have some chickens about 3 months old. Some of them have some kind of respiratoy problem. They sound like they have a cold, wheezing and rattling as they breathe. We've given them antibiotics for 3 days but don't see any change. We don't have a vet in our area that deals with chickens I am worried about my birds They are my pets. Thanks for any advise.

I don't really have any advice for you about your chicks, but may I make a suggestion? If you post in the Emergencies/diseases/injuries section someone there might be able to help you.

Welcome! Good luck with the sick chicks. One of mine was very sick with a respiritory thing and he pulled through just fine. I treated him with VetRX (like vicks vapor rub for chickens), electrolytes in the water, egg yolk, and yogurt in his mash. There is a lot of good advice on the forum.
