Hi all, I'm new to the site and to raising chicks , these 12 are my very first ever so please be patient with me. I hope I'm posting in the appropriate place. I got 12 chicks 3 weeks ago Wednesday they were fine up until a week ago this last Friday I noticed one of my girls shaking her head constantly , sneezing with decreased activity along with eating and drinking. I knew something wasn't right but as I said I'm brand new so I had no idea what to do, I called tractor supply (that's where I got them ) they recommended an antibiotic, right before I left to go pick up the antibiotic which I ended up getting and have them on duramycin-10, I noticed the same poor girl had foamy like bubbles covering her eyes. Well a long story short almost all if my girls within the next day started sneezing and shaking their heads but were acting normal , I saw slight improvement within the first few days (or so I thought) but had a few that just weren't getting appetite or energy back but as time has gone on they are all still shaking their heads and sneezing, there's been 1 that still has the foamy eyes here and there and she just doesn't seem to be recovering but now 9 days on antibiotics and they are still sneezing and shaking their heads. I don't know what it is or what to do with them, I'm confused on what to do next. 4 of them are meat birds , which happen to be the sickest of all if them, were the first ones sick and were the only ones to get the foamy eyes the rest just sneezed and shook their heads. Any Input would be great, please help !!

How are your chickens housed?
Also, you might try calling a vet instead of TSC.
Best of luk with your chics.

I talked to a vet last week . He suggested tylan but also said I wouldn't want to eat my meat birds after that, but was also saying that after a week on an antibiotic with slight improvement seeming to keep it at bay but not cure it wasn't looking good for my chicks. I'm unsure what to do, if I can't eat my meat birds after being sick and treated do I keep them or just let them go now? They are in a 45 gallon plastic container with pine bedding, hear lamp on one side so they can be in or out of it, bedding is changed and the box is cleaned daily along with food and water feeders. I'm afraid that with all of them still sneezing and shaking their heads that one this round of antibiotics are done they will all get really sick. I managed to catch it so that a few unlucky ones got really sick and the rest just picked up the sneezing/head shaking with no appetite/energy loss. If they all would be carriers do I want to start fresh and hope for healthy birds or keep treating these ones?
