HI everyone, I have a Japanese Black Tailed Buff bantam that went broody and was sitting on a few eggs, she apparently started stealing eggs from other hens as she ended up with eleven eggs which started hatching out one at a time a day apart. I found one dead one day then then another the next day, when I found the third it was half eaten and she was pecking at another. I took this chick from her and the remainder of her eggs and put them in the incubator.
the eggs started hatching in the bator ( one a day same as with the hen) and they have been great for about 4-5 days and then they started dying! One a day! and it's the oldest ones that die.
I am not a newbie at raising chicks, hatching or having a broody hatch her own, and I am perplexed to say the least!
Any help here?
