My daughter has been sick for 9 days. Doctors can't find anything in the blood work.

Symptoms are mostly that everything hurts. Headache, stomach ache, sore throat and lymph nodes.

Sound familiar to any one?

Thanks

Her white cell count is ok. They did a cbc, I did not ask for Lyme's....can you get that from chickens?

I think it might be mono too. That test is coming in early next week.

Any other ideas?

Mono that is what I was thinking too. Fever? I imagine after that many days they have done blood work.

white cell count is good, I would definatly be leaning towards mono then, as its probably something viral.
Lyme's you get from ticks. You will also have this large rash type of bullyseye pattern, it would only be hard to miss if it was in the hair and such. But it sounds so mono.

For our Pediatrician it was not the first thing they thought of. As a health-care provider, unless someone is "toxic" and only been sick for 9 day's, it is usually let it run its course. After 10-14 days then more needs to be done. My son was 15 when he had it, high fevers, 103-105. But that is not unusual for him. It was when he started peeing coke, that i got worried and took him in to the Dr. His liver and spleen were involved, which is common. The liver involvement was causing the coke pee. I was better in about a month. We think he got it from sharing water bottles at training. But, it was bad timing he was on the varsity cross country team as a freshman and missed the State meet.

So, if you daughter is drinking and peeing, I think you can wait a few more day's before you pursue it. BUT, if you are worried follow you gut instinct and get you questions answered.

The mono test should be back today or (sigh) Monday. This is actually day 10 with no improvement, but no getting worse either.

You all are reassuring me that it isn't something worse.....

We have 100's of chickens and she does help me clean out the chick pen. So I thought I would ask.

I saw the lady on here with Histoplasmosis, but my daughter does not have the same symptoms.
