Sick droopy Buff roo. UPDATE!!! GOOD NEWS!!!

Keep him in for now and definitely start him on the added nutrition mentioned above. My roo (as well as his hen friends) do very well on a game bird maintenance crumble as the mainstay of their diet (with oyster shell always available for the girls). They get ample amounts of bird seed mixtures that are heavy on black oil sunflower seed. Your roo needs these things right away. The corn is not cutting it at all. He is failing to thrive from malnutrition. If you can, also get him some mealworms to help build his strength (places like Petco usually carry, as do some bait shops).
My roo BJ is about 9 years old now - these foods have served him well.
Hoping your roo will feel better soon.

Just reread about his sleepyness - even though he seems somewhat improved, it's clear he needs a nutritional boost. If you don't have Avia Charge 2000 on hand, can order on line - it's a powder that can go in their water everyday and provides many supplements to help mitigate for imperfect diet. Been using it for years - I mix to the color of light iced tea. In the meantime, get Polyvisol liquid children's vitmains (without added iron) and give him 3 drops daily, dribbled via dropper gently along his beak line so he swallows on his own and doesn't choke. Stuff tastes like crud so follow with yummy tasting treat like cut up blueberries or cherries or whatever.

Continue to give him the vitamin water for 2 weeks. Try to get him on a nice well balanced chicken feed and once he is up to snuff let him have a little time outside to have a snack of some grass and bugs in the yard. If he won't eat the feed right off moisten it and add a little scrambled egg in it to encourage eating.
