Sick duck again, not sure what’s going on

Thank you so much. Great info. Yes she is supposed to be talking to an Avian Specialist and getting back to me. She is totally comfortable with me holding her so that shouldn't be an issue. My flock is all female but they "pretend" so I should be able to tell that way as far as her behavior. I was planning on calling on Thursday to see where she is with it. I wish I would have found this group months ago. Thank you again.

No prob! Keep us posted. My girls always pretend mated too! I’m sending good vibes to you and your sweet duck. I’ll let you know anything I hear from the specialist in Madison if and when I see her. My vet says they are of the best in the country and they regular consult with them. But who knows...there’s just so little in the way of “pet duck” info out there. Best!

Your good vibes must have worked! The other vet I mentioned that I didn’t think was going to do anything just called me. Her cultures finally came back after 2 weeks and she found something that the antibiotic she was on is resistant to. So she’s having me shipped the correct antibiotic AND she’s going to give Dudley the implant on Wednesday the 8th I’m so happy things are finally looking up for my little Lady! Thank you so much!

That’s very encouraging. I’m going to talk to the vet about this when she goes on the 8th and see what she says. Would be a permanent solution for her. Dudley isn’t quite even 2 years old yet and is so healthy and happy other than her vent issues.
