Sick duck

I have a 6 month old female duck.. She free ranges.. . Not laying yet.. Noticed yesterday that she was isolating herself from the other ducks.. She is lethargic. Not Eating.. Drinking water.. But after she does.. She shakes her head a bit. Some water comes back up.. No idea what the prob could be.. Advice appreciated..

Check her eyes to see if she has an infection, and around her vent and wings for mites. Mites and an eye infection will cause head shaking. Isolate her from all other poultry. What type of duck is it? Is she molting? Does she have access to fresh water? What has she been eating? One thing is to make certain she's isolated and has at least a bucket of water so if she's contagious it won't spread to any other poultry.

I’d also feel along her neck area for something she may have swallowed an it got stuck. Look in her mouth and under her tongue too. Keep her where you can monitor feed an water intake and also poop.

Thanks everyone. We have no idea what caused her passing. It was very sudden.. She free ranges.. So that had to be a possibility that she Ingested something? Watching the other ones closely
