Sick duck

Hi I am new to backyard chickens and I am hoping someone can help me. I have a six and a half year old male duck. He is our pet and our only duck. A couple of months ago we noticed that he seemed to be walking slower. This has continued and now just this past week he doesn't seem able to walk anymore or able to control his legs. When he tries to walk he falls. His wings are strong and he uses them to pull himself around when absolutely necessary but otherwise he just sits and sleeps. Does anyone know what could be a problem and if there is anything that could help him? I love my duck and feel horrible that this is happening.

sorry for the circumstances. You might try giving him a poultry vitamin supplement. Hopefully he is not aging out.

What breed is he?

Could you take a video of him trying to walk, and upload it to a video platform such as Youtube or Vimeo?

This is especially true with heavyweight breeds like Pekins, but as ducks age, they tend to become more prone to leg problems such as arthritis, bumblefoot, and can easily injure their legs.

What are you feeding him?

What is he housed on/in?

Have you checked his footpads for Bumblefoot?

My duck is a peking duck. We feed him "golden harvest" I can't video him walking for He doesn't walk anymore. He will pull himself around with his wings. I have attached pictures, one is of his night time cage, which is about 4 ft long by 3 ft wide. I also have a picture of his feet..

could he have fallen off the ledge of his night time enclosure and injured himself. How does he get down from there? Has he ever been on a niacin supplement?

No he hasn't fallen. He usually jumps down and jumps up. He did have a sore leg a while back and he limped for a week or so but he got better from that. Then he just got slower and slower until now he can't even stand on his legs
