Good morning,My long time companion Thunder is sick and I don’t know what to do he is 6years old his tail feathers are ragged,he’s been laying around he keeps putting his head all the way to the back and when I pick him up he just sits there he always wants to sit on my head or shoulders and now nothing. And when you go in there house he just lays there doesn’t even look to see who it is.Ive had other ducks threw the years get like this and die it seems every year at this time I get a duck or two that get this way and die from chicks to full grown. All the rest of the ducks are fine. little monsters as usual play in the creek all day and home by 7pm.Does anyone have an idea what’s going on?

So sorry to hear Thunder is feeling unwell - do you think you could bring him inside somewhere warm, into a quiet room?

After he is settled down, could take a quick video of his behavior, and upload it to a video platform such as youtube, or Vimeo, and copy/paste the link here?
If he produces some droppings, a few pictures of that would be great as well.

Has Thunders's appetite changed over the last few days at all, if so, please elucidate?
If you haven't already, it would be a good idea to perform a thorough physical examination, checking all regions of the body for abnormities. Weighing the bird on a gram scale to get a baseline weight, and palpating the keel bone would be suggested.

Sadly Thunder never pulled threw,he wanted to go in the creek yesterday that’s were all my other ducks were after spending most of the day with me I put him in the creek, he swam down to my other ducks and never came home with the other ducks.I am heart broken about loosing him he was very smart he would actually talk to me,he would play with me make me throw him in the air then run back so I would do it again and again,he would even play hide and seek with me and boy o boy could he let you know when he wasn’t getting his way. Thanks for letting me tell you about Thunder
