Hello all. My godson in Oklahoma has a duck who has been "gasping for air" for over a week now. The first day it happened was right after a rain storm and she had been out where it got really cold so I told him to put her in a lukewarm bath, give her electrolites and keep her warm and dry. He just sent me a message that she is still doing it. He said she is eating and drinking but having breathing difficulties. I do not have any more information than this at this time but I can send questions to him to get answers if you have any. I was wondering if any of you knew of a Vetrinarian that takes ducks from Tulsa to Oklahoma City? Tulsa would be closest but anywhere in between those two cites would work.
Thank you

Don't know vets out that way, wish I could help.

She may have pneumonia, and if it's bacterial, then an antibiotic might help.

Is she being kept inside where it is warm enough? Some people use VetRx for things like this. I am not sure, I think Miss Lydia said she's used Oxine. Here's a link

Prayers for you all.

Thank you for responding. He is really worried about her and has called his "aunt" for help. I am too far away to do anything myself so I appreciate any advice I can give him.

I have to text him, I am not sure. He would be at work right now. I will find out a little later this afternoon. Thank you for asking
