Sick gander!

hmmmm ive 19 acres for just the geese and a horse and theres also a river .He has nine acres and a stream. He has better feed then me but they look way too fat .em the grass seems fine its short so thats the grass.Only difference is that i have my geese in sheds to sleep and he has his geese sleep outside in his field .Oh and i use straw for bedding and he has hay.
His geese are are all scared of people and mine are tamer. He has other farm animals

Now that can be the case coz his animals all sleep near eachother but his only animals that sleep right next to his geese are his peacocks rheas guineas and his race horses

OK Sherlock, I´m sure you´ll work it out.

Maybe the other animals are leaving the grass less than adequate for the geese? Sounds like the geese may not be getting enough good grass if he feeds them a good bit of feed but the grass is short and fine? Geese like that, I know, but it needs to have goodness in it too.

If they´re getting quite a bit of feed, maybe it lacks sufficient niacin, like Ruru said.

Mybe but the goslings are actually fattened at his shed when only week old which i dont like coz its like a power turbo growth and they start on grass at a month old unlike me i have em on grass straight away

Hey again everyone! Sorry I have not gotten back to you, been so busy! I can not believe it but he made a full recovery! I was so upset that I would loose him. I raised them from the ball of fluff on toothpicks stage and they have become like kids to me. I know my Afghan Johnny was upset about it! He would just go sit by the goose fence. He was raised from a pup around the geese and I am not sure if he knows he is not one! Thanfully, my feed supply store is now stocking the proper food now. I know that if any of my friends have bird troubles, I will point them to this board. You guys know more than the so called pros do in my area! Thanks again!

People who have geese seem to learn by experience on what to do or not do. Not all the people you ask know everything about geese at a feed store or old farmer's ways. Remember the BEST feed for geese is waterfowl or gamebird feed. It has the proper amount of all the vitamins they need. But if one likes you can also use brewers yeast for animals not the kind that rises bread that is a no no! But you put I believe one cup per 10 pounds. It has niacin and vitamin B in it..
