sick golden comet plz help

My golden comet is about 6 months old they have all (5 of them) been laying fine and then today i walked outthere to do there water and feedand stuff and one of them is like very fat looking can barely walk and her comb has shrunken. should i seperate them or will she just come out of the stage.. thanks all commets welcome.

I would check to see if she is egg bound

Hi Hunter Hilbig, I am so sorry about your Golden comet. I had many comets myself and all eventually get egg bound sick and die. It's terrible. These chickens were bred for mass production in commercial egg companies and farm stores keep selling them. They were never meant to lay eggs more then 2 years. Although some of mine are 3 and 4. I also have Light Sussex and New Hampshire reds who are very hardy and never get sick. I have nursed comets back to health several times only to find them egg bound again later. Don't buy this breed. You will just be let down and broken hearted.
