Hello all... hoping someone has some experience with a similar issue and can help!
I have a hen who was sick when we returned from vacation. I took her to our vet who did an xray and found pneumonia. She recovered after a 10 day cycle of the antibiotic clavamox.
She was doing well, back to normal for about 2 or 3 weeks, then the same symptoms returned- lethargy, not eating or drinking well, walking with a waddle, doesn't want to be in the top of the coop with the rest of the hens...
We took her back to the vet who repeated the xray and found no pneumonia (she is also not egg bound). We have her back on clavamox for 5 days now and she is not improving. I can tell each night when we pill her and force feed cat food (per vet recommendation) that she is losing weight.
I don't want her to suffer- I really feel that the antibiotic is not the correct treatment but our vet says there is nothing else he can do for her. Any advice or suggestions??
