Sick Hen, I am confused what am I looking for!

Blupoppies

Hatching
so my newbie moment. Thought our Black Cochin Bantam was egg bound. Normally our 4 hens give us a good 6 to 10 eggs a week. So we have spent most of the day hydrating her, did the soak for 2 hours and I am really not sure she is egg bound? She looks awful, so thin I wonder if she is eating. She is with me we have given her chick starter mixed with her layer feed & she has eaten a good bit, is she just being starved out for some reason? Help we cannot lose her!

If she is eating, but still loosing weight, it could possibly be tapeworm? At least that's how it works in humans. Try separating her, dog crate/box, keep an eye out on her poops, feed her whatever she will eat - if she's eating her normal feed that's a good sign. I fed my girl a lot of fruit when she was having trouble just to make sure she got enough water intake. Egg binding has signs like; walking funny, moving slow and very little, fluffing up and their eyes kinda close like their strained. Sometimes you can feel the egg if you touch around the bum. My hen had her egg broken inside and had all the symptoms but you couldn't feel it, but she also pooped the egg whites and yolk out. What kind of symptoms is she actually having?

Another thing to do to encourage them to get water is float some meal worms or something in the water and she will swallow some water while she tries to grab the mealworms ;)

So she is still here this morning, lethargic but here. So far she is eating and drinking, just super blah not much else for symptoms. I have her seperated with chick starter and her food mixed. She will not stand, her poo yesterday was white with greeninsh tint, then there was this weird coating that looked like cooked chicken skin, sorry only way to describe it. That peeled off. Weird looking, I'm pretty savy but this has me stumped. The egg bound if there is an egg it may have broken. There was yellow stuff but not much looked all over yard and found nothing so far.

It sounds like the egg broke inside, the "chicken skin" could have been the membrain of the egg. Aside from removing it yourself there isnt a whole lot you can do except the soaks, lubricating the vent... I think some people try flushing it out (like one would douche) idk if I recomend that for someone who isn't experienced, I wasn't about to do it. Sorry I can't be too much help, try searching broken eggs or looking into a vet visit?
