I found our beloved Reba this PM on the porch...her eye is bubbling and she appears to gasp for breath....I have now isolated her and started antibotics in her water...any additional advice? All other birds seem OK for now.....

Do not give terrimycin for this. It will do nothing. You need to give Tylan 50 immediately. You can use tylan 50 injectable (found at tsc - for cattle). Give 1/2 cc for large birds and 1/4cc for bantams once a day for 3 days. Inject in the breast, just under the skin, not into the muscle. This will be the quickest treatment. Keep an eye on everyone else as this is contagious.

If you cannot find the injectable, look for tylan powder, it is a water soluble but will take several days to help clear this up.

If you cannot find tylan at all, look for gallimycin water soluble. Not as good as tylan but should work over the course of a week to 10 days.
