Hey everyone, I’m worried about one of my hens. She is about a year and a half old, could be molting, but we haven't seen one of her eggs in a few days. She has been walking slow and just standing around the last few days. You can see the discoloration on her comb in the picture. She hasn’t been enthusiastic like she normally is. She also just drank a ton and puked a bunch of water 3 times. Any ideas what’s wrong?

If her feathers appear rough and ratty, she may well be molting. You could try giving her some protein treats,,such as scrambled bits of egg, tuna, sunflower seed, or some meal worms. Is she taking water and eating okay? Her comb being flopped over and bluish near the back tips could be normal or a sign of dehydration. Poultry NutriDrench is a good vitamin electrolyte boost that can be given orally 2 ml daily.

Thanks! Today she seems very slow and lethargic, but seems to definitely be molting. We found yellow and green poop from the last few days as well. She’s not hanging out with our other 3 girls as much when we let them out to roam. I’m not sure how much she’s eating and drinking. Anyone else have ideas?
