I still wonder about Mareks disease, but internal layers can become lame as well. Chickens will Mareks will all have differing symptoms, but sometimes they will get stuck on their sides or backs with feet in the air, not being able to right themselves. Sometimes they can lie with both legs out to the front or back of them, and sometimes with one leg i front while the other leg is under or in back of them. It can't be diagnosed for sure without a blood test or a necropsy. Here is some reading about it when you have time:
