Could anyone help me with my hen Willow. For the past week she has been slower than usual. She doesn't roost like normal and sleeps standing up. I originally thought impacted crop because it never seems to full empty. She was throwing up fluids but hasn't in the last few days. I also questioned egg bound but can't seem to feel anything. She stands with her back arched up. She is 2 years old and is a Seroma Bantam

Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry to hear that Willow is not doing well.
Photos of her and her poop are always welcome.

When was her last egg?
I would re-check her crop, if it's not emptying by morning, then I'd begin treating her according to the article linked below.

She may be having trouble with an egg even if you can feel one. I'd get some extra Calcium into her. 1 Calcium Citrate with D3 tablet, once daily. Since she's a bantam, you may need to split the tablet up a bit but pop the pieces into her beak and let her swallow.

See that she's drinking and offer her a little wet feed, scrambled egg, etc. You want her hydrated, she may not eat much if her crop is not functioning well.
Often a crop problem is just a symptom of an underlying condition like a reproductive disorder, worms, infection and/or coccidiosis.

Has she ever been dewormed? If so, when and what did you use?

She could be egg bound and you can't feel the egg because it's still higher in the oviduct. It's simple and safe to give her a calcium tablet and if she is having trouble expelling an egg, this will encourage the contractions to push it out. This is what to buy.

Give her one full tablet by prying open her beak and shoving it inside. She'll swallow no problem.
